In October 2011, four new TERRE DAVIS italian clay courts were laid at the Queensland Tennis Centre in Brisbane. The previous courts had been ruined by the devastating floods in December 2010.
This project was funded by Tennis Australia and was overseen by Peter Cronin of Stadiums Queensland and Terry Rocavert.
The courts were not layed in the traditional sense. A laser leveler was used to distibute the clay and the make the levels perfect. This was the first time the TERRE DAVIS product had been spread in this way and the result was excellent. The leveler helped in the initial compaction of the courts as well, then the surface was rolled which finalised the compaction process.
