Founder Terry Rocavert is a former top 100 player and state coach of NSW, and has helped many of Australia’s greats reach top 100 rankings. He was in fact the first ever state coach appointed in Australia.

His passion for European clay courts has been a 35 year journey, from learning the craft as a player to helping top juniors learn to play on tournament tours to Europe, to physically bringing European clay to Australian shores.

Over a 10 year period he has personally researched the international clay court market, tested models in Australia and worked with Tennis Australia to identify and connect with one of Europe’s most respected manufacturers of clay courts – Terre Davis, of Cremona Italy. His knowledge of both the broader player development attributes of clay and his product is incontestable.

NEW COURT AT MOOROODUC

Reece Driscoll of “In search of Excellence” has had a Terre Davis clay court laid over an old synthetic grass court at Moorooduc on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria. There are few places more magical than this beautiful setting.

Reece, an enthusiastic young coach who is very involved in player development, has shown great foresight in wanting the same clay surface as exists at Melbourne Park for training his juniors. The result can be seen in this picture! This very European environment makes this clay court aesthetically second to none in Australia.

Reece was able to achieve this result at a modest price.
